The more popular ones are expensive.
Kalymnos on the other hand has several nice beaches, my
favorite is Masouri, Mirthies, and Candouni. There are a whole
lot more and the hotels are very inexpensive. Great food. Lots
of night life. About 100 dollars by ferry from Piraeus(port of Athens) round trip. Very good lodgings about 35 a day. I stayed
at the link below. Very nice. Includes Kitchen Facilities.
Many outdoor activities as well. Hiking, Rock Climbing,
swimming, etc. Few tourists, mostly from Scandia or England.
Hardly any US or German. I think I was the only US during May.

English widely spoken, since English is the official language of
the EU.
I Corinthians 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!!
EDIT: For people with tender feet, take a pair of sandals for
the beach and for swimming. Lots of stones in all the beaches
in Greece. It took me 4 trips to learn this lesson.

The Cyclades are famous for their extraordinary weather, the beauty of the beaches and the charn of the architecture.
The beaches of Ikaria
Ikaria Greece has many varied and superb beaches nestled in picturesque coves or extending over kilometres. Some are surrounded by impressive rocks, others are mixed with the fresh waters of small rivers and all have crystal-clear emerald or azure waters. All the information about those Ikaria’s idyllic beaches are available in this section.
Alonissos is one of the most beautiful and authentic islands of the Sporades and is the ideal destination for those who are searching for peace and relaxation.
The island is covered by dense vegetation and is mostly known for the incredible beaches in clean crystal emerald waters it offers. The waters are considered as the cleanliness of the Aegean.

Kephalonia is excellent, I am going on 23 September. People are fantastic and it's so relaxing. If you want quiet go to Fiskardo, busier try Sami. Look at the Greek Island Club/Sunville web site, we go to Waterfront Apartments in Fiscardo.
Have a good holiday wherever you go.

The best beaches are in cyclades and the ionian islands. the best of the best beaches are in koufonisia but you will get bored if you are going to stay for more than 2 vays because there is no nighlife. myconos has great beaches and a good nightlife. you have to visit santorini for her sunset in ia which is written as one of the things you have to see before you die! paros ,naxos, zante, kefallonia, corfu, are great. So you can choose to go in all of them.note: i think zante has an international airport so you will be able to leave from there

Del Sol hotel on Skopelos Island. that is a lot less extreme priced, you'd be secure, have exciting, and journey Greece the way it could be experienced. Skopelos has the superb seashores, stunning accomodation, a great number of exciting and delightful human beings, and a secure, satisfied nighttime existence.

Zakinthos is perfect, just returned.
Tsilivi area is the best, close to Zakinthos yet very quiet and clean.
good taverns and amazing beaches all around the island.
leave aside the hotels, rent a Villa/apprtment (tons of them, I can recommend bellavista at bouka beach)
take a car and tour the island

English is NOT THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE of the EU and nor should it be. Show some courtesy and learn some Greek!
The following are all good and known well to me: Zakinthos, Kefalonia, Lefkada, Naxos, Paros, Crete, Lipsi, Leros, Kalymnos, Tilos, Simi, Astipalia and about twenty others.
