Once I was standing at the gate of a house, I heard some glasses or tublers falling in the kitchen. I noticed it and asked about to the house owner. He told me that frequently they were also hearing that, He don't know which is his father or mother. (They were died in an accident). Do you have any such experience?

I live in Edinburgh, apparently the capital of hauntings in Europe. I haven't noticed any spiritual activities there, though to be honest there are places that I avoid. Two years ago though, I lived in Chester, near Liverpool, and had some experiences there. My room was in a converted barrack, inside the Chester walls and as such part of the mediaeval town. The house next to mine was completely empy, but every single night I did hear stools and chairs moving about on the other side of the wall, people talking, glasses - like a dinner party really, but it didn't sound like a good time. My flatmate blames the wind, the lousy shutters and rats at first, until we shared an experience: we very clearly heard someone come up the stairs to the bedrooms (we were playing at his computer in his room) and the floor creaked towards us, then thankfully stopped. The house had a cellar and an enormous attic too, which led my crazed flatmate to thinking we could use that space to grow herbs. Or weeds, rather. All the plants in the attic died mysteriously quickly though - without bug infections, rat bites or bad air. In fact, the attic was spacious, well-aired and with lots of artificial lighting. We tried three crops before we gave up. Another girl who rented a room with us downstairs one day went out of her mind literally one night, scared to the end of her wits - but we'll never know what caused it, becasue she moved back to Spain immediately after that. The flatmate I mentioned earlier reckoned we had three ghosts, one of which was nasty but never seen upstairs. He had met a ghost and had a conversation with it in our downstairs living room, but I didn't believe him too much. He was a stoner, afterall.

The scariest experience I had in Chester was, when I came back from a late night film in an industrial park, and stupidly decided to get up on the Chester wall, which conveniently meanders through town and comes by my house too. It was of course dark, a bit wet, and I would have needed very little imagination indeed to see ghosts. When I had come by an old watchtower and walked on across the wall, now alongside a canal hundreds of meters below and a foggy field on the other side.. I saw an enormous figure walking towards me slowly. As I am myself 6'7 and knew the place, I could estimate the apparition at 7' at least. Luckily for me, it appeared to move away from me, getting off the wall onto a sidepath towards the the enormous cathedral in central Chester. Needless to say I walked towards that spot very carefully, felt sober immediately, and continued my way through the streets rather than that wall.

Later on I heard and read about other stories describing an enormous figure in black, a monk even, in that neighbourhood. Some even met such figures in the woods, and I wonder if what I saw was a spirit at all - in my opinion it appeared more like a demonic figure. What spirit could be over 7 feet? Anyway, when in England I advise against visiting Chester, a town full of nasty people and ghastly ghouls. Edinburgh might be haunted too, the fabulous life in the Scots capital means it's blessed far more than it's haunted.

Once my friend and I were outside late at night (isn't that how all ghost stories go?), we heard the sounds of boots or hard shoes scuffling up the pavement. My friend asked me who in the world it could be at that time of night, seeing as how we lived in the country at the time, it was pretty uncommon for someone to just be having a stroll around midnight.

I didn't have the slightest idea who it was so we waited and then saw an older man wearing overalls, work boots, and a hat strolling up the road. I turned my flash light on on him and we watched as he casually just walked down the road.

Once he reached our mailbox, he turned to look at us and we could see the mailbox THROUGH him. I still have no idea who this "person" was.

I turned to say something to my friend and she was already gone, she'd run inside the house.... and locked me out!! LOL.

I've had several, several encounters with spirits or "ghosts" over my 25 years. Right now, I have a spirit that lives in my house. Actually, two that I know of. I'm not really sure who either of them are but they only come around every so often.

Theres a house near my friend's place, its old and falling apart. We took pics inside of the house and if you view them there are white spots everywhere on eah pic. His little bro wont go in the house because he went in before and freaked out because he thought he heard a girl screaming. Weird stuff.
