As far as I know, the only difference is that footnotes are on the bottom of each page, and endnotes are at the end of the paper. I don't know when one is more appropriate than the other.

A footnote is a note of text placed at the bottom of a page in a book or document. The note comments on and may cite a reference for part of the main body of text. A footnote is normally flagged by a superscript number following that portion of the text the note is in reference to.
1 for the first footnote on the page, 2 for the second footnote, and so on.
Occasionally a number between brackets or parentheses, is used instead, thus: [1]. Typographical devices such as the asterisk (*) or dagger (†) may also be used to point to footnotes. In documents like timetables many different symbols, as well as letters and numbers, may be used to refer the reader to particular footnotes.
Endnotes are similar to footnotes, but differ in that they do not appear at the foot of the particular page, but instead collected together, usually chapter by chapter, appearing as an appendix at the end of the work. Endnotes are generally harder to handle than footnotes, as moving to the appendix every time takes additional time and effort. In fact author and media critic Al Franken alleges that endnotes make it much easier to invent quotations, especially if using lots, as nobody is going to sift through pages of footnotes lacking their context (see the discussion of Infinite Jest below). Endnotes are often referred to as footnotes.[1]
Footnotes and endnotes are used to comment on or cite a reference to a designated part of the text of a paper. Every footnote or endnote includes a reference in the document text as wells the footnote or the endnote itself. This reference is usually a number, but it can also be a letter or any other symbol. The only difference between footnotes and endnotes is that the former appear on the same page as the referenced material while the latter appear at the end of a section of the document or the end of the document itself.

Footnotes are the flaws with the superscripted volume that correspond to an same numbered be conscious on the bottom of the web page. An endnote is form of a footnote, yet rather of being on the bottom, they're on the right of the financial disaster or in the decrease back of the e book. Works said is a itemizing of resources that were used to assemble the innovations. it really is diverse from a bibliography in that the reference is instantly credited in an inner citation (like you're saying, it really is the position I were given this innovations).
