Man! As much as i would love to join the rest in saying Darth Vader i would prefer Luke. Luke grew up thinking that someone actually killed his father and later found out that that very someone who killed his father is his father himself. Man! that need a lot of courage to stomach down. In the end luke also had to resist the temptation of reuniting with his father to join the dark side and we all know that's very tempting!

Darth Vader!!
He is much more complex and human with the whole good vs. evil thing going on. He is operating out of fear and love, the fear of losing the things (poeple) he loves the most.
The whole Star Wars Saga is the story of Darth Vader, his life, his accomplishments, the FEAR of losing the things he loved the most accuatlly caused him to lose them and in the end he redeemed himself and back from the dark side to save his son.
The story of Vader has all the trials, fears, desires, and feelings of self-doubt that we all have. Most people can relate to the feelings that Anakin felt while growing up and the emotional experiences that lead to the creation of Darth Vadar. He only wanted to be loved.

Definitely Vader. Not only did he make the original trilogy what it was and is, but he also fathered Luke. Can't beat that!
