Actually, some the limits of motion in REM dreams varies from individual to individual. Most people can run in dreams, and for some it seems to be the most common action. Some suggest that it may be psychological factors that affect the person in real life that makes for a sense of limitation in dreams.
Also it IS interesting to note that most people I've spoken to have never dreamt orgasm. And it's true that we can't read, however sometimes facts just materialise out of nowhere.
Hope this helps!

When I was a kid, I could,(In my dream) wake my self up from the dream by laying down and closing my eyes, and I would wake up out of my dream. I could even change characters in the dream if things got to scary. Like if I was being attacked I could switch to someone who was watching the attack instead of being the one attacked. One night I laid down in my dream to wake up and all I did was go into another dream this happened 2 or 3 times that night. After that I could not do it anymore. So I don't know what is , or is not possible. But,I do believe that certain dreams come to us for a reason, so you should be more worried about what your dreams are trying to tell you, than your limitations in them.

Apparently we can't read in dreams because we're not using the correct side of our brain in dreams.
So if you're dreaming, try picking up and reading a book. It'll seem as though you're dyslexic.

Sometimes I can talk. Often I'm too weak to hit a monster hard enough. We also cannot read in dreams.

I run in my dreams sometimes, I fly and I yell sometimes. I fall. I bleed but i have never died and I have never ejaculated inside a woman in my dreams.
