I was watching Back to the Future and thought I hadn't heard of him since Spin City. Any ideas?

He has Parkinson's disease and he's leading a campaign to allow stem cell research into preventable diseases. Monkey George and his neo-con christian fundamentalists are opposing it because they seem to value the life of a bunch of cells over people with life-shortening diseases.

Michael J Fox... hasn't been in front of the camera much but he has done a lot of voices for animated movies.. But his latest acting role was on Boston Legal... and he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991.

Great actor, especially in BTTF and Teenwolf.

He has had a pretty unlucky life considering he has had such a successful career.

I think he got some disease that meant he stayed young looking forever (I think he was about 27 when he made the first BTTF), and then contracted Parkinsons.

He is doing a great job raising money for the disease, and raising its profile in society.

Good luck MJF!

He has Parkinson's Disease (NOT MS). Parkinson's is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, that affects the control of muscles, and so may affect movement, speech and posture.

Because of this it makes it hard for him to act. He has done some guest appearances on Boston Legal but it's hard for him to do a lot because of the nature of his illness.

Janet Reno and Micheal are inflicted with Parkinson. I have experience this infliction up close (family member).

He is in my prayers (Reno as well even tho I am not a dem).

Parkinson's disease primarily impairs movement, although it can alter mood and thinking.

He has a debilitating disease. He left spin city because of this and has basically retired from acting due to the fact his nerves are slowly deterring and he can't stop shaking at times.
