Well, any oil can if you take enough of it, but taken in the proper dosage the calories aren't enough to worry about versus the health benefits.

I've been taking cod liver oil for years and I haven't gain any weight. Cod liver oil are the good oil as it's required by the body. Of course, moderation is the key word in whatever you consume. Don't worry, it's harmless to the weight.

I cant imagine anyone taking that much.
In fact since much cod liver oil is shark liver oil I suspect more than 3 or 4 ounces a day would make you very sick from vitamin A overload.

About a year ago, I was drinking about a half gallon of it a day. I gained 120lbs in 4 months. I quit drinking it and lost all the weight.

the average healthy person only needs 1/2 teaspoon a day. for those who are in recovery, about 2 teaspoons. in these amounts, no it will not make you fat.
