yes it is good to have a third party but we have over 10 parties that run for president elections every four years. They are on some of the ballots in most states. All you have to do is to vote for them.

By the way, my genius friends, the United States is a Republic not a Democracy. Such as England, Canada, and the other Democracies that were mentioned. Their structures are completely different as far as their government is run. Just to inform you of a fact. You might research the difference between a Republic and a Democracy. Civic 101

Democracies that have at least three parties, if not more, tend to have less corruption and more often do what it is the public's interest, rather than special interest groups (big business, religion, et al).

Coalition governments listen more than they dictate, and they DON'T produce deadlocks, despite lies told to the contrary. Take a look at such countries and their records of effective governance: Canada, the UK, Germany, the EU, New Zealand, Australia, France, etc.

Maintaining a two party system in the US benefits those who already have wealth and power, not the populace.

yes, I do believe that there should be a multiparty system .A MULTIPARTY SYSTEM ensures democratic legitimacy in the country.Side by side it also safeguards the liberal rights of the masses. In this people are provided with diverse options & a wide choice so that they can elect their true representative. If the two party system exists then it may lead to the dictatoaship of the parties and people have to accept their orders as they have no choice left.in such a situation the true spirit of democracy i.e. the govt. 'by the people ,of the people and for the people' will get lost.

The US needs a strong honest and wise president from a third party offering some common sense alternative to big business controlled government. Someone who will reinstate the power and rights of individuals.

I am a member of the independent party, and the bad thing about that is that if you don't have an independent running, you can not even vote in the election. Me and my wife ( who is Democrat) go to vote and she gets to vote for things that I don't. The only way we are ever going to count as voters is if we go vote for vote and get rid of the electoral colleges.

Definately!
In al countries it is common practice that elections are held between one "right" and one "left" wing parties, so a "third" party (no matter where it leans) is a good option, if you wish to protest about this continuous "duet".

Yes. Two parties are not really democratic. The more parties there are, the more democratic a country can be, even if the government is less effective.
