The Best thing I like about the Lord of the rings is the that it centered around obsession,greed,suffering,and then there was a way to end most of it.
Best of all the hero lived

Peter Jackson's vision of the whole universe. From production design to special effects, it was all good.
And paradoxically enough, the fact that everyone can relate to these movies. There's something for everyone, really.
And also, great characters we actually care about.

the visual creation of a world reflecting what I and obviously many others perceived from the books. Heros, creatures, villiany, beauty and change.

How very, very much of the novels made it into the movies...not just how good they were ...the movies that is...but how much Jackson honored so very much of the material in the book. I was stunned.

i liked it how the director read and understood the story and didn't change anything in it to suit hollywood better, like most adaptations
