milk does represent a rich life growing liquid. it's probably because it's used by all female mammals to help their offspring develop. once a female mammal becomes pregnant, she begins to lactate. it could represent fertility and good health.

Scientifically, any non-living object cannot 'drink' milk. However, if the idol has a narrow tube (as in the case of the idol of Ganesha), and the opening to this narrow tube is dipped into a vessel containing milk, then through capillary action (explained later herein), milk will rise into this capillary. The narrower the tube, more will be the height to which the milk will rise. If the tube gets bent downwards from a point lower than the height to which the milk would have risen had the tube been vertically straight (and if the other end of the tube is lower than the level of milk in the vessel) then milk will start flowing from the vessel up into the tube and then down and out from the other end of the tube. Our faith in power of the deities makes it appear as if the idol is performing the miracle of drinking milk.
Capillary action is a physical phenomenon that can easily be observed in our daily lives simply by dipping a narrow transparent tube, like a straw-pipe, into a coloured liquid, say milk / pepsi / coke etc. The liquid will rise in the tube to a height greater than that of its level in the vessel that contains the liquid. The narrower the tube, the higher the level to which it will rise. Try it for yourself.

To properly answer this question, we would need to know more about the earliest Dairy Association marketing programs. In ancient times, Gods were regarded much as modern people consider our athletic heroes. So these idols were the equivalent of having the likeness of a baseball star on the front of a cereal box. Inscribed at the base of these idols were glyphs that have only been partially translated, but are known to say something like "Do you have milk?"
Early Roman statues such as that of Romulus and Remus suggest that the milk being distributed at that time was not necessarily cows' milk. .

Scientific explanation will be available, only to the scientifically proved facts. For ex. Has anyone weighed the idols before and after drinking milk? Does the same phenomena is found in ceramic and metal idols? etc.

Well, as it is obvious, the idols don't drink milk. But since the idols r mostly made of stone , they r porous and can absorb some of the milk on contact. Even if a very smal amount of milk is absorbed the beleiver claims that the god is actually drinking milk. U can try the same think with any stone.

It was solved and explained 10-11 years ago when first "Ganesh" drunk milk. The phenomena happened due to surface tension and in some case capillary action.Still now some greedy and ill motivated people is trying to mislead general person.

Nature has certain secrets hidden in it, science only unfolds the secret on the basis of its available source. Even in this age of advanced medical science they use term 'alergy' when they fail to find reason for ailment. Spiritual events are far beyond scientific approach.

this is due to undersurface tensions i.e. tension which the earth goes through before earthquake or so,but its not necessary that earth quake will come, these under surface tensions can even cause dry metals like iron, copper, etc to soak the liquid.
