I was age 15 when I got mine. I sure would not worry about it at this point. You are well within the normal range.

You probably have another 8 months to a year to go......developement has stages....seriously, if you talk to your dr she can explain it to you. My daughter was 8 and half with pubic hair and developing breast when they told me we had a year to year and half....that was Jan of third grade....she started her period the last day of 4th grade..........your mom probably won't know about the stages, you could try looking it up online but your pediatrician is your best bet and right on target most of the time!
Good luck sweety and be glad you don't have to deal with it yet. You should have seen the look on my daughters face when I told her, yes...you have to wear a pad at night....your gonna bleed like this for 5 to 7 days!!! and she thought she knew it all.

Trust me, I know all-too-well how important it is to get your first period . I was 14 years old when I got mine. It's determined mainly by family genetics. So, if your mom was 15 when she got her's, you'll probably follow suit. If you haven't had it by the time you're 16 years old, definitely see a DR. It might help calm you to talk to your mom. She can tell you what age she was when she started, etc.
Hang in there!

Probably not just yet, I'm sure she knows how your body is changing (she can tell by your boobs). And she knows you are coming of "age" The body is just getting things into order before it says, "hey, I am biologically ready to have a baby!" (Signified by your first period.) Your body is not finished yet, it is not ready, give it a little time. Definantly talk to her if you think something is wrong, or when you do start, let her know. You are her baby and it is important to her to know what is going on in your world...that's a big change!

I reccommend talking with your mom because your cycle will probably start when her's did. It is also important to be open with your mom about things like this because then you wont be afraid to ask questions about your body. And this helps when you think about becoming sexually active because you will already have an open relationship and be able to talk with her about your options. Good Luck!!

If you feel that you really really got to tell your mum, tell her. But for me, I wouldnt tell cause its okay if you dont get it at 13. If you dont get it at 15 or 16, tell your mum. But I'm sure you will get it soon. Dont worry so much.
