if so what should we do about it?

Yes and they use fear tactics to get people to go along with it. "If you don't let us do this, you will all be attacked again" stuff like that. the best solution is to stop buying in to the fear mongering, and stand up and make a call for it to stop.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear its self"-- Franklin Roosevelt

Yes little by little for our own good...or so "they" say. And it's not just one political party they are all doing it. We are constantly being told what we can say and do and what's good for us and not. Regulations and taxation is used to "force" us to make the choice they want. Governmental powers are used to manipulate us into the cubby hole "they" want us to be in. And don't forget individuals in the US take our freedoms away as well. All it takes is someone suing a drug company or restaurant and getting media coverage and a drug that helps thousands but only harms a few will taken off the market or whole menus will be changed because some gorger can't control themselves. Sigh...anyone know a deserted island we can move too?

Yes, but you can not stop it. People don't care enough to do anything except moan and complain to each other. Few people even send emails to their congressmen to show the strength of their feelings. Money is wasted by stupid squabbling about trivial issues...look at the WTC Memorial issue or the bickering over the damage of Katrina....people just point fingers at those they think were guilty of errors. I am an American but live in China, here we fix the problem rather than worry about guilt. Your freedom will suffer more about the illegals as a national ID card is likely to be mandated, of course with finger prints and perhaps DNA markers so everyone will become just a digital entity.

Absolutely YES, we are losing our rights. We've already lost many and will never see them again. We can't own property when the local governments can tax it and take it away from you if you don't pay the tax. The Imminent Domain thing was given great power by our beloved Supreme Court just this past year. And they are supposed to uphold the Constitution. When that happened, I knew this great country was no longer great and was on a slippery slope.

Like I stated, we've lost many rights already. This is not the most free country in the world anymore. I'd have to give that to Austrailia.

Vote Democrat. Civil liberties have been chipped away during Republican administrations, particularly this one. A third party would be nice, but it's extremely unlikely that it will win many offices. The Democrats, although far from perfect, and coopted by big business, do have more of a committment to personal liberties.

Remember many years ago when a lady was handcuffed and had her car impounded because she was driving a bit too fast?

She sued the police. It eventually went to the Supreme Court and they decided the police have the right to do just that.

This was a big blow to individual rights in America. But nobody seemed to notice or even care. Since then, Americans have been losing their rights bit by bit and they just lay down and take it. Is it too late now to try to reclaim what you have lost?

YES--- does the constitution allow the government to take property from one private property owner in order go give it to another private property owner because the new owner might produce more profit and more taxes for the city(new London) from the land. note how the supreme court ruled. are we loosing any freedom?

YOUR government isn't taking anything. YOU give your freedom slowly away. Big difference.

The first thing you should do is to throw out your TV.......

we can't really do anything about it, unless majority of the citizens share the same views as you, and somehow or rather it benefits the government.
