I'm waiting for a similar phone call. I understand how you feel, my heart's in my throat and I'm jumping every time the phone rings!
However, you must not call the employer back after an interview. You must wait for them to call you. If they want you, they will call you. If you call them it might put them off you if they are considering you as a second choice. Another reason they sometimes take ages to get back to you is that they are checking your references and the referees you gave are taking their time.
Give them at least two weeks to get in touch with you. After that it is acceptable to call, write or send an e-mail thanking them for the interview and reminding them of your contact details.
wish me luck and good luck yourself.
Let us know how you did.

The company will usually do the calling, If you are not called on the day they said they will you probably have not been chosen. However, you could call a day after and ask politely about it. That will show that you were really interested in the job so that in case there is any chance or opening again you could get it. Probably the people they have called may not be interested.
Good luck

Generally candidates who are NOT on the "short-list" are never called back.
It was actually unwise for them to say they would call you. It would have been more contemporary for them to say that you would be called by a certain date IF you were a finalist.
Then if they don't call by then, it's pretty much understood that you didn't make the cut.
But since they did say they would call, and haven't by that date, you should wait 2 more days and THEN it would be OK for you to call BUT ONLY to thank them for the time and courtesy they gave you by interviewing you.
However, it would be bad form to ask about the job at that time - if they want you they will call you, and if not, there's nothing you can do about it anyway.
Good luck!

Usually after four days it's good to follow up. You can either phone them or you can send a follow-up letter thanking them for the interview and expressing how much you are interested in the job and re-iterate your contact number, basically wondering what the **** is taking them so long to answer you! Worked with me everytime!

Did you find out how many other people they were interviewing? They will wait until they've seen everyone before they call you. If they've said they'll contact you today then I'm sure they will.
Keep yourself busy and don't dwell on it. They won't leave you hanging on I'm sure.
Good luck!

If they tell you they will call on a certain day, call the day after if you have heard anything. You don't want to pressure by calling that day, but you do want them to know you are still interested. If they do not give a certain time, then the general rule is in a week,

Leave it at least a couple of days and even then call the office but not the individual to find out if an appointment has been made.

Of course, you sent the courteous thank you note after your interview to both say thanks for their time, and to remind them how great you are.
You would have stated on said letter when you would have called them, and I would say Tuesday afternoon or first thing Wednesday.
Don't forget, you are not calling to chase them up, you are calling to ensure there are no other questions they have, and if they had made a decision as yet?

If he doesn't phone today, then I think you should assume you haven't got the job.
Just in case he's a bit forget-full or hasn't made up his mind, give him a polite ring tomorrow and ask if he's made a decision, cause if he hasn't, he will know you're keen and it may go in your favour.
Good Luck
