What are you on about?

"I wore the red of United in two trial games," Gerrard said in his book, published by the News of the World.

"After doing well in those games United offered me a three-year pro contract.

"I even met their legendary manager. A group of trialists had dinner with Mr Ferguson, as he was then. Michael Owen was meant to be at the meal, but didn't turn up.

"We sat and listened in awe to one of the managerial greats. He had heard about me and desperately wanted me to sign, but I was never going to sign for United.

"I looked around other clubs partly to pressure Liverpool into giving me a YTS contract."

Where did he say he wanted United to Die?
"And during 90 minutes of football I want United to die".
Put the statement in context ...............
(I believe he made a comment last year that he would die before he signed for United, a different thing entirely).
Is this another scum persecution complex?
Do you expect everyone to be a Rooney Judas? (once a Blue always a Blue FFS).
Grow up and read it properly.
You obviously don't understand the depth of feeling there is between Liverpool and United and your misinformed and purile comments just fuel this, before you criticise Gerrard read Gary Nevilles interview from last year, and bear in mind most Liverpool fans supported him because of his honesty even if not (obviously) agreeing with what he said.

I didn't read the News of the World but heard about it on the radio. What Gerrard actually said is that when he was a young boy he was brought up to hate Man Utd, as was every Liverpool supporter then and now. This is quite different from the impression given in the paper. Just another case of poor journalism.

Lets consider that Steve said it in the heat of a moment. He's a treat to watch on the field. Sometimes the game gets too passionate for players and Steve is not the first one to make such a comment. Man Utd and Liverpool are great teams in their own way. Both have achieved laurels in almost all levels and have successfully entertained football fans thru out the world. Let's hope that they continue to do so and not be marred by such comments!!!!

God how stupid are all of you that think he said that. Believing a tabloid nespaper that never write the truth. The week before had parts of steven gerrard's autobiography in it but that was a lie as i've read the book and it's nothing like what the papers have said.

i am very shocked to hear that Gerrard sold his story to the news of the world, Rooney did the same last year. I thought they were both supposed to be scousers, we all know that a true and proper scouser would never touch that paper after what it said about the city, they have no morals tut tut tut

I think he is the best player in the world. As we all know the rivalry between Liverpool and United. I am sure it was just one of those "on the spot" moments. I think it's been taken out of context.

All liverpool fans hate Man U. That's just life. Get over it and quit whining. The News of The World is a load of crap anyway and the sooner they are shut down for spreading lies and bullcrap the better.

Gerrard can say what he wants
He's the best player in the world (he's a god)
and i'm not going to argue with that and no one else should unless you want him to strike down upon you with great vengeance and furious anger.
