Most webcams are USB. Never plug in a USB device without first installing the drivers. Drivers are obtained from the maker on the web and are easily found as long as you know what kind if cam u have

If you are running Win Xp,
and if the web cam is USB compatible (it should be),
then you dont need to install any extra SWs

Plug it in, You may need to reboot. Get a cam software program,

Or even Yahoo messanger, if you have the most recient version. right click invite to cam.
