I am sorry WildRose, but you can't both be indifferent and irritable at the same time.

Nice try though. HAHAHAHA !!!!

Yeah, it's a good catch alright...LOL. They go on trips to just get a break from time at work or time with the wives. For some it could be to talk about other things going on in the world, like sports, hot girls in magazines on TV (don't even pretend to be in awe, women do it too^@^), other manly things, or to get away from persistent obnoxious things like nagging, screaming children, or such. It is also a social form of male bonding, men since the beginning of whenever went on the hunt. It doesn't necessarily have to be fishing either; it could be bowling, football, soccer, hunting, videogames, whatever. It is the natural thing within men to compete, it is what drives us. It is a form of acceptance and aduration for others, and it brings in a system of belonging. But what must be understood here is that married people even need breaks from one another, marriage does not come without conflict or not wanting to be away from one another for a short while. Everyone needs their space, even married people. At the end of the day, when the catch is in and the men have finished, they go home to their wife and kids and show off their spoils. Children get to see and hear great tales of fishing and hunting, and wives are anxious to get good lovin.^@^

On a total off topic note, this thread has been pretty funny. There have been some humorous, off the wall answers. Good to have a little fun with things, life is about being happy.

It relaxes them. Also, if they catch fish, it's like the pioneers who had to put food on the table by living off the land and sea. Kind of masculine, I guess. I'm assuming your question was serious and without a double meaning.

Don't know if you're talking literally here or not, but, for REAL fishing for REAL fish, it's for a break, for relaxing, for selfish persuits, to get away, to forget responsiblities, to breath fresh air.
If it's for other women, it's because they're selfish, self-serving, egotistical, wicked men who need to reevaluate themselves and start serving and loving the woman who they picked to spend the rest of their life with.

Maybe for the same reason single men go fishing.

Lame.

If he doesn't think that his wife is a good catch, then he shouldn't have married her in the first place. It's his own damn fault that he's miserable. So there :P
