No..Friend is someone stays by you no matter the day is suny or dark.

You have a misconception of "best friend".
1) Your best friend... Is someone who is there through the good, and the bad times no matter what.
2) A person can be your best friend, but the reverse may not be the same.
3) If you think that best friend = shadow... You have issues, and should talk to a therapist about getting close to people.
4) My personal believe is that, (I have a lot of really good friends that under my description of best friend, would be in that category), not to play favouritism over others, so my best friend will be the person I marry.

That would depend on how old you are. In high school your best friend is like your shadow, and you hers but as time goes by life changes. You marry have a family, your kids become your shadow. So the answer to your question would be depends on what stage of life your in.

It seems from your question you are describing a "Clinger", not a best friend.
* A best friend might be the opposite of you in personality, but you have enough common interests so you have fun together.
* A best friend is someone who knows everything about you, but loves you anyhow.
*A best friend is someone YOU RESPECT and who respects you in return.
Anyone who is always around, who always goes with your plans or desires, or ideas is just feeding your ego, not helping you grow.

No, that is a slave. You should not treat your friends as someone who follows you everywhere but someone who sticks by you at your greatest needs. Remember that a best friend could be somewhere else but when the time arises, he will stand by you. That is why we have what we called "through thick or thin."

well yes and no,if they choose to be around you then they must like your company look up to you.
I have a few friends whom have had the same kind of shadow simularities.If I get tired of them hang'in around, Im pretty blunt and say can ya give me some time alone or in need to just relax and get my head together.
They used to get offened but i think its aways good to have you time.
It merely astonishes me, how can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It's beyond me.
