Whoever is listed as the executor of the will is legally obligated to carry out the wishes of the deceased as outlined in the will. You need to find out who that is and inquire to them. Hopefully it's a lawyer and not a family member. But either way, they're responsible to let you examine the will, and hand out cash. If they've mishandled the funds then they can be sued. So you'll need your own lawyer. Good luck.

You definitely need to talk to a lawyer about this, and soon. If you can not afford a lawyer, ask your local bar association if there are free legal services available in your area. Alternatively, if the money involved is significant, some lawyers might take your case on contingency, which means they would get a portion of what you get. Find a lawyer soon,

You can contact the attorney to find out information. If your not in the will, however, you won't get any information. The natural family can contest the will, especially if there is someone closely related that did not receive anything at all or was not named in the will.

You need to get a lawyer. Since the family hasn't contacted you, they are obviously not following what his will said. Even though it is a touchy subject, if you are in the will, you deserve to get what you were given. Contact a lawyer immediately

I know you are scared but I would ask his family first because bringing a lawyer first might put them off and not make them want to work with you.

ask them politely. if they refuse, challenge them to a lawsuit of the will. they have no right to keep the money from you since your bf willed it to you. they should at least be respectful of the dead
