Pahargang, Karol Bagh areas near New Delhi railway Station. most budget foreigners stay there. I think you can get a good deal for $20/- if keep the touts at bay. you could get some cheap and reasonably good Western food at the restaurants in the area.

Try the retiring rooms at new delhi rly station. Cheap and best.

try hotels near new delhi rly stn they are cheap you can get in 500 to 800 bucks ,or try at karol bagh
