This supposition assumes that the "you" in the sentence cannot make a difference for if the "you" made a difference then that "you" joins the group of "others" and someone else becomes "you" therefore perpetuating the statement.

I think it is about "you", us as individuals. Once we are alive, we have touched the life (lives) of someone (others) for the better, at least once. That contributes to making a difference.

If it's not about me then it must be about you... the words from a song the title of which I cannot remember.

But yes, I try not to be totally self centred and remember those others who have given so much for us. Like all the soldiers who have died down the years in the vain hope that their dying would not be in vain. Meaning that the world would be a better place for us all to enjoy and live in.

I hate the statement. Truth is, if you do not change your ways, how could you be able to influence others to change as well. You have to be able to show the difference you made in your life so that it would make a difference in others lives. The difference you make is a whole lot in that case.

I believe you are very correct and It is a wonderful question.
If more people focused on you and him and her and them then this world live in peace and harmony.

Yes I joke alot about myself but I care a great deal for others.
You know that very old saying that your parents used to say?
What goes around comes around, I know its true thats why I choose people over myself most of the time.
Remember help yourself 1st then your are more able to help others more effectively.

Yes that's totally correct except for the fact that for that to happen everyone must realise that first you must believe that YOU can make the difference and then everyone together will sum to the grater difference

no it is about me and you for yourself to make a difference if we all thought that it was up to everyone else nothing would ever come of anything!! if however we all each make a little effort for instance to do more for the benifits of others everyone would be better off....how can you think that?!

yes, unless it is us that are willing and capable of changing or making a difference in the world. we never know if we never try and pin all the credit on everyone else as your question implies.

Of course it is not all about you, but many have and are falling into that trap daily! This attitude is one where people prefer to see your back rather than see you arriving.

Yes, it's not all about us.
We make a little change ourselves and we find others also changing.
