how to install a starter in a 96 chevy blazer?

i have to install a starter in my 96 blazer but i dont know how. I took the old one out but the new one has a way to adjust the starter bushing buy sticking a screwdriver in the side of it.

I have trouble understanding this. Just stick the old shim in and tighten it up. If it doesn't work, take the shim out. Good luck.
