Your consciousness isn't some floaty spiritual thing, dude - it's all coming from your brain. A physical, very real brain, that a surgeon could poke at if ever something went wrong. And we've all got brains, too - all on the same plane as the bushes outside and the air and all that. Yup. So no matrix - sorry.
