You can pause the game if this still happens. Go to the menu, click on options and click on pause.
If the problem persists even if you pause the game, quit it and go to program files and virtual villagers and click on LDWlog.txt. you can find out how your villagers died. Good luck!

I have never tried to pause the game but I did put it on 1/2 time last night to wake up with no dead villagers as I had been leaving it set on 2x time. So either pause or 1/2 time should work.

???? Here's an idea, get a tub of gas and pour a circle around the village with it, then set it on fire an wallah, ur safe. No one can enter. . .or leave. mwa ha ha

Don't they have a pause on that? I will have to check it out; my friend has been playing that game! Her ppls were dying too. Very SAD! : (
I do know that Fish Tycoon (very similar game) has a Pause on it.
