I think that this is a very interesting question.
I believe that should Afrikaners wish to eastablish their own homeland, they should have the full right to do so.

As mentioned earlier by another answerer, this is already being done on a small scale in the town of Orania. I am not sure however of the facts that the people there are regarded as "slow".
The last factual article I read, indicated that they have well established schools already of a good standard and that they have even begun exporting their own produce which I think is a fantastic achievement.

Ultimately, I believe that if Afrikaners wish to establish their own homeland, it will be a successful endeavour since they have shown themselves to be a passionate and above all hard-working culture. In can already be said that this is being done judging by the number of Afrikaners living in Perth, Canada and London (where they even have their own church established).

A little off the topic now but, to the people that say that they "stole" land: Why don't you get a history lesson you clowns.
When white Europeans came to South Africa, the Cape was sparsely populated by San and not the Zulus, Xhosas, Sothos who came from the North. If you really wish to harp on about that, then perhaps you should turn your attention to the English settlers who were far more aggressive in land grabs and in actual fact, were the original inventors of concentration camps yet they continue to hypocratically attack Afrikaners. What a joke!

Cheers

The Boer nation came into existence through the merging of people from different nations such as the Dutch, German and French. When the British came onto the scene at the beginning of the nineteenth century the Boer nation was already in existence. After the establishment of the Boer Republics, after the 'Great Trek', the Boers were internationally recognized as a nation due to the fulfilling of the general requirements of nationalism such as:

Known origin of descent,
own Language,
own culture & traditions,
a history based on experiences.

I think most South Africans would tell you that "boers" is hardly ever used anymore, except in a derogatory way, or in the real meaning of the word, which is farmer (or "rancher" if you are American).

Some white Afrikaans-speaking South Africans live in a little enclave in the Northern Cape province called "Orania". It is private property (and not a town) - the government allows them to do this (it is allowed under the constitution) and they are entitled to services as provided by the municipality they fall under and services are provided. I have worked with people living there, and they are in desperate poverty, their children appear rather slow and there are signs of too much of the same genetic material being interchanged, and the social development of Orania is hampered. Interestingly, the owners of the property live in Pretoria and not even in this enclave.

I think the way things are handled at the moment is the right way to deal with this. Let them have their enclave at their own risks. They are South African citizens and as such entitled to services, which they are free to ignore or make use of. In this way, everyone is happy.

It may surprise you that the majority of the Afrikaans speaking white South Africans are working actively to make the country a better place for all and that there is an absolute minority who thinks like you.

No, South Africa has eleven official languages, people should learn and accept that they are sharing a country. There is already one town in South Africa were the 'Boers' are ruling. They should not allowed that. If you don't learn to live with other people you don't learn to understand other people and that's not good for a country. Look what Apartheid (and colonialism) did to South Africa. ( it destroyed also the original economy, that's what a lot of African country's are dealing with)

There is certainly some ignorance and disinformation displayed in response to your answer. Constitutionally there is nothing to stop so called " Boers" setting up their own little enclave. Unfortunately South Africa has disintegrated into a violent crime ridden Society beset with racial problems. An elite Black minority are enriching themselves at the expense of the majority with Policies designed to drive white South Africans out of the Country. Visit www.crimexposouthafrica.org or www.southafricaiscrap.blog.com for details of the crime and violence that is endemic.

nicely because of the fact in early epochs those whites have been preyed upon by skill of enhanced greater desirable fighters, what you call white did no longer exist it became into and nonetheless is nationality and commencing place of kinsmen. You consistent with danger do no longer undergo in thoughts who yours have been anymore, yet maximum others do. till you're somewhat wasp you're no longer white yet wannabe ethnic to slot in! faith incredibly ecu first placed forward the assumption of white and Christian to chop up themselves form Asians, Africans and Arabs, who they feared of their nightmares and historic previous. so they took up a Jews/Arabs perception in a one God and further a crucified Son and stole it to make themselves enhanced and whiter !

No, they are land thieves. Unless they want to compensate the people for the land they stole, they should not have any rights. For these people to say they came to an "unoccupied" country and settled there is idiotic, because the land was already occupied by the native inhabitants when they arrived. They did not "discover" this land....it was already discovered, by the people already living there.
