If you can find a reputable Chinese medicine centre, they should be able to offer you acupucture. If you have muscular problems they may be able to offer as you can a treatment called 'cupping'. It can be painful with pulled muscles but its worth it. I had a problem recently. After the acupunceture, she heated the needles with some kind of relaxing herb, then after ten minutes she had these metal and glass round cups, lit some antiseptic stuff, put it in the cup and like 'sucked' it on to my shoulder, It is not particularly comfortable and you may need a cloth to bite while being applied, but I tell ya lady, the next day, red marks around my shoulder and my ruptured muscle was back in place and not even 1/3 ot the original pain. I did it again as the blood clot needed more treatment, and now its almost completely fixed. Grin and bear it, it does wonders. If you dont need the cups, ask them to run the low voltage electricity through the acupuncture needles, it really helps to loosen nerves and muscles mush faster.

p.s look away when they do the needles, they look worse than they feel

It depends on where you live. Some places (such as California) are saturated with acupuncturists. Others (such as South Carolina) only have a few. A good place to start is to check your yellow pages. It is important to make sure that any acupuncturist that you see has a masters degree in the field of acupuncture or Oriental Medicine (the exact title of the masters vary from university to university. Try to avoid MD's and chiropractors who have taken short courses and call themselves acupuncturists. They will not be as qualified as the Licensed Acupuncturists who have spent a minimum of 3-4 years of study in this field.
