yes. the problem is, the brain begins to "die" without oxygen. After someone has drowned or choked, it is imperative to give life support immediately. Seven minutes without oxygen to the brain, the brain is dead. you have no brain patterns, including the ability to breath without machines.

After suffocation I'm not sure but I am positive it can be done after drowning.One of my friends
accidentally drown when she was little.Her heart stopped but the paramedics were able to bring her back.But sadly she suffered brain damage and she now has a speech problem.
It is definitely possible to be revived after drowning but I believe that the chances are very slim in most cases.As for suffocating,my guess would be that it is possible.

Um...technically, no, because those are both causes of death words.

You can be revived after being in water without air for a while, especially in cold water. Suffocation is another matter and I don't think you could be revived.

Only if you are found in time.

After a short time without oxygen your brain will sustain damage, therefore even if a person can be revived they may have permanent brain trauma.
