My car tends to not want to start, like i went to the store and it started it up perfectly, then I come back out and get in it, then it didn't want to start, the dashboard lights came on and radio as well. I called AAA Car Service, the guy who came out, said it was either my starter, a/c, or Alarm. But I don't know anything about cars. I think it is my starter I am not sure. It might be the A/C, it can't be the Alarm, because if you try to start the car with the alarm armed, it will make it go off like someone is trying to steal it and makes it where you can't start it. Please I need some feedback. Mechanics preferred but general advice and help is great too.

Yes it does start with a boost, but i had my alternator replaced a few months ago, and my car was running directly off of the battery until I got the alternator which was the next day, but I will have all that checked out...just to be sure...thanks....more suggestions are welcome..

well first things first have the battery tested if that is OK then you need to look at the starter. what you can do is drive the car around a few miles just enough to get the engine to operating temp. once you have done that drive back home shut the car off then try to start it. if it does not start then let it sit for about 20 - 30 min. so it has a chance to cool down. once it has cooled down try to start it again. if it starts. then you need to replace the starter. when starters begin to go bad they will not work properly when they are hot.

A lot of people overlook the battery as the cause of things like this. Batteries, whether getting properly charged or not, take an awful beating in the heat, especially when a/c is used a lot.
Does it start well with a boost? If so, start it with a boost and then let it sit for twenty minutes. That should be enough time to charge the battery for starting it. If it does what it did before and starts weakly, then it all likelihood the battery is just plain cooked. If not the battery, then maybe your alternator belt is slipping because it's loose. Therefore, the alternator won't charge the battery. if thisis it, tighten the belt and boost it again. If it does the same thing AGAIN, then it might very well be your alternator.
I have a hunch that your battery is fried but a lot of things can cause what you describe.
best wishes.

it could very well be your battery. if the battery terminals are corroded then it will start sometimes and other times it won't do anything. the other guy is right. heat and cold both really test your battery. you can have it checked for free at a parts store like auto zone or any other major auto parts store. they can also check your alternator. for free these few things are the best thing to start with. i would ask what it does when it doesn't start though. does it do absolutely nothing or does it kinda try to start but won't. if you find that the battery, alternator, and all the wires connecting them are fine then the next thing would be the starter. next time it doesn't start try to turn your key repeatedly. if it is the starter sticking then sometimes this will work. if you really have no idea what that is or where it is on your car then you can try to find a friend that does. he/she can help you with all of this. well i hope this helps

That dying alternator zapped the life out of your battery. When a car battery is drained totally dead, it will lose 50 percent of it's capacity to store electricity. Then if it is drained again, that's another 50 percent, and so on. Put in a new battery and be sure that all cables are clean and in good condition. Good luck.

My favourite is the seventy 5 the perfect one with the round headlights. extraordinarily with swivel bucket seats! staggering!!!!! Any Monte Carlo is staggering in my e book. those previous due 80s they did good except for the Aero Monte Carlo, that rear window did not do any justice to that motor motorized vehicle. till ultimately now some fool take one and position 20+ inch rims and some funky hydraulics and hip hop the crap out of it, bypass get it. i might want to if I actually have the money.

have the battery checked, it may have a bad cell in it, just because your dash lights come, does not mean the battery is fully charged, if the battery checks fine, then you need to check the starter to see if the solenoid may be breaking down after it warms up

If the electrical fix doesn't take care of it, consider changing the cam position sensor.
