Hi - I had a tummy tuck on July 11th, so I can give you some insight from experience!

To go back to work, I would give yourself a SOLID TWO WEEKS OFF. If you can get 2 1/2 or 3, that would be just an "extra insurance" that you will be ready.

Some important things you need to understand. You cannot drive until you are off the pain medicine, so that's about a week. You also have these "temporary drains" in you post-surgery to help remove some of the excess liquid. Those were actually the most uncomfortable things for me. Once those were out - again, within the first week or 10 days - you feel SO MUCH BETTER. Finally, you will be limited in your lifting, and you will probably still be hunched over a little probably up to 4 weeks, but you can go back to work with that. You will also be wearing a binder / girdle thing for about 4 weeks, but it fits discreetly under clothes.

The most important thing, if you do go ahead with it, is to GET UP AND GET MOVING THE VERY NEXT DAY! It makes such a difference in your recovery time. If you just lie around, it could take you longer to get back to normal. Your body needs to learn how to "work" with your new abdomen. If you just lie around, it'll take longer to learn!

Hope this helps! Recovery time does vary for everyone, but this will give you an idea. I'm a teacher, so I planned my surgery in the summer when I knew I would have ample time to recover. But I was basically fine in 2 1/2 weeks. I even went to a wedding 18 days after the surgery, and no one had a clue - I was walking upright and even danced!

If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me!

Get tummy tuck surgery in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

my cousin got her breast reduction/liposculpture/buttoc... lift surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare.she is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.i personally have seen the wondeful results and am particularly impressed with the kind of quality care she got from this company.
