I have slow broadband service and suspect that someone has remote access to my computer. ie screensaver is suddenly
de-activated with no personal input. Can anyone help?

I am computer "dummy", but do keep virus definitions up to date, also I have spywear programs installed. None detect anything.

get a router and set up a network key...this will require anybody trying to access he net with your connection to enter your password...the network key

Get a router,use "jetico personal firewall",and scrub your nsystem clean.
Use all the suggested antispyware and anti virus programs.

Sounds to me like you might have spyware and virus troubles. They can make you slow and do other wierd things to your comp without your knowledge.Get a good spyware removal tool.
