I am 43, and don't mind saying I do not understand the buzz about trashy Paris Hilton. Am I missing something? What is her appeal and why is she famous? And---why do young women want to be like her? If our daughter acted like her, we would change our names, sell the house and move!

I don't really understand either. Actually, young girls like her because she is super-thin, which every pre-teen and teen alike want to be. Also, she IS kinda pretty, in a way, and she has managed to have some serious curves despite her thin-ness. As an extra feature, she is super-rich. Which girl would not want to be super-rich and famous??? She gets all the boys' attention too.
Well, at least that's what my daughter and her friends told me. One of my daughter's friend's boyfriend broke up with her just because she would not attend this movie premier or something like that which Paris was attending. After that all the girls were even more attracted to her, as she can even get guys to break up with their girlfriends just to get a glimpse of her. The world just doesn't make sense.

because she is rich and famous and can throw a hole bunch of cash out the window and not give a damn and do anything in the world that would be wronged on if she was anyone BUT paris hilton and everyone would still love her.

Paris Hilton is just a slut, and extreme partygoer. She is way worse than Lindsay Lohan when it comes to partying because Lindsay is ceasing her partying ways now.

It might be nice to have whatever you want but I would never want to act like Paris or have my child act like that!!! I dont know why everyone is crazy over her!!!

shes something to wonder about, make fun of, and ridicule so that people dont have to look at whats wrong with their own lives. but thats the case with most celebrities i think.
i had a friend who read trash mags before she went to bed to 'give herself something else to think about' and in her case i dont blame her. its a distraction from the pain of life.
im not saying its that way for everyone. some ppl might think its cool to trash her, others might just be following her lead because shes famous and ppl pay attention to her.
whatever it is, i dont care. shes only important if you make her that way, so dont waste your time

The girls wanna be like her coz she gets all the male attention & lets face it, who wouldn't like that. The guys like her coz sluttiness captures their attention. I personally think she is a trashy, slutty, skanky hoe bag with zero talent. Take away her peroxide hair & plastic surgery she's nothing.
