Why do people vote for there political party no matter what, I know people that would vote for one certain party no matter who was on the ballot. You could put a retarded drulling cat on the ballot and if it's a democrat some people are gonna vote for him simply because it's a dem.
Correct me If I'm wrong isn't the purpose of voting to by majority elect the best person for the job not elect them simply by their party. And yes I know party does play some roll but shouldn't play the only roll.

You are wrong. The point of a democracy is so that the Parliament is representative of that of the general values and beliefs of the community. The intention for voting is to let everyone elect who THEY feel is best, and if they think politicial parties are more important than individual perons (which, as you would've no doubt realised, IS), then they should do so with no marks against them.

Exactly, I agree. The one representing the issues is the better man. We have have to many voters voting on party and promises instead. Whether it's a Donkey or an Elephant or Independent. People have forgotten it's about Issues and qualification.

I totally agree with you...I'm independent... and vote for who I feel is the best candidate... party views change , as do the politicians in them.... some Democrats are more like conservatives some Republicans are more liberal etc....I vote the person, his/ her values / goals and record ...my allegiance is only to my own mores/ values not to any party...

Yes I will correct you..when you vote for "the man" you need to realize that..this person is beholden to a great deal the party he affiliates him/herself with. There is no such thing realistically as "voting for the person" That is in and of itself is make believe, and ignores political reality.

In some elections, you can only vote for your parties candidate.

I think we should eliminate the parties and just be PEOPLE and the PEOPLE could choose, buy majority, who they want to lead.

Apathy, and lack of education. Most people engage in
"parroting". Just repeating what they hear. We need to be
informed.
