How do I replace it? The exhaust manifold gasket is what connects by the catalytic converter, right? Would I be able to just pull the converter off (I have no muffler) and replace it that way or do I have to do it from the hood and tear half my motor up? Someone please give me detailed instructions and I will give the 10 pts to whoever gives me the easiest directions (besides taking it to a mechanic... lol) Please someone help me out!!!

An exhaust manifold gasket lies between the exhaust manifold and the engine block. You are talking about an exhaust pipe gasket. Either one can be a real pain to change (the manifold is the worst by far) because of the likelihood of rusty bolts breaking off and having to be drilled out and re-tapped. If you are going to do it yourself, soak them for a few days with WD-40, then wipe them clean and heat them with a torch to facilitate removal.

Doughnut is on the pipe, manifold is on the engine. Aluminum head? If it's cast iron (both manifold and head) you can polish them both to a machine finish and bolt them together and never worry about it again. It does sound like you are describing the manifold. Is it a 2.8 or 2.3? 2.8 is a v-6. You will want to take the wheel off on that side to get to the bolts. You may have to pull the inner fender off. Be careful. Good luck. 2.3 4 cyl. is not hard at all so I won't give instructions on that. Plus, it has a header and you can't machine it, you must use a gasket if it does not have a big bulky cast iron manifold.
