For CAT exam you need to preapare well in English and maths.
You should be through in these things and practise a lot to get a goog rank in CAT.

If I understand correctly, you are refering to CAT for entrance to Indian B-Schools.
Start by being regular to www.pagalguy.com Its a good resource for the latest in CAT preperation.
Apart from that certain things are basic like,
1. Mathmatical ability (basic 10th class) but special emphasis on being able to do calculations in mind for speed.
2. English language skills (written / spoken), for this start reading a good English newspaper like The Hindu.
Try taking time out to just go and talk to one of the many CAT Institutes like Career Launcher, TIME, IMS etc.

Well..u will have to have gud grammar in english.. will have to prepare for verbal ability and reasoning,reading comprehension so just try reading many books,quantative skills,data interpretations and analytical and logical reasoning...try your best to prepare for group discussion.
