I am having a big birthday party in December and I want to give away 5 little gifts that cost no more than $25. The gifts have to be unisex!

I was thinking about giving away a bottle of wine and 4 gift certificates to places such as Best Buy, Chili's, Overstock.com, Target, Netflix or something like that.

Can you help me decide what to give or select better gifts? What kind of gifts would you like to receive? Everyone at the party will get a party favor but these are some special gifts. What gifts are appropriate? My friends tell me I shouldn't do anything but that's not in my nature!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks everyone! I just wanted to make sure I was selecting gifts that people would really like. I would hate to get a gift that I knew I would not use like...a gift certificate to a hardware store!!! HA HA!!

Gift baskets are a bit too large. Most people are travelling to this party from out of state and out of the country so baskets are too large!

Gift certificates are perfect.

CD"s and DVD"s, are fairly unisex. Alcohol and chocolates are another good idea so are the certificates. Is your party themed in any way and could you tie the gifts in with it. I think its a nice idea to give your friends gifts, will they be prizes for silly games or a free raffle? You could visit a gadget shop and get something a bit quirky, that will be of some use, but funny at the same time. I hope your party goes well.

Indee gift certificates are a great idea but you could wrap a little thing! I often send gift certificates (Easier than parcels) If i always had a little something, anything from a 'prtoect me angel' for those i know will appreciate! Little Teddy Bear or fun key ring you know! What you know people like that way they enjoy teh gift voucher if they also have a little thing as well!

Well - maybe I'm hard to please, but gift certificates sound a little impersonal to me. I know these are sort of random gifts (or at least that's what it sounds like to me), but there must be something they're all into, or that you are. What about making up gift baskets with different types of things that YOU like and want to share with them? You favourite herbal teas, or coffees, homemade baked goods from your secret recipe - a burned CD of your most loved songs.? Just something that will add a little bit of you to the proceedings. Are you crafty? You could always make up a little decorative item for each of the baskets too...

It sounds like you already have some really great ideas :)

Maybe try putting together some candy gift baskets or a drink gift basket- something w/all the fixin's you'd need to make a margarita with or something like that.

Btw, Happy Birthday to you!

Gift certificates are always nice. Wines, though, you'd have to know pretty much everyone's preference. One might like a merlot, others might prefer sweet. I wouldn't go with the wine, unless it's a wine certificate, maybe.

buy a gallon of canola oil, some easter egg dyes, some sugar, and 5 jars of mayo. Throw the mayo out, liquify the sugar, mix with dyes and oil. Fill the mayo jars and put a 'private stock' love oil sticker on it. Cost: 12-14 bucks

If it was me, I'd stick to the gift certs. Avoid the internet places, though. Stick with Best Buy, or maybe those prepaid gasoline cards. Those would be pretty useful.

Depends where you live. There are lovely T-shirts you can buy. Boxes of Swiss chocolates make good gifts. Xango-health juicees--great gifts. leather belts and ties for men.
Boaz.

You should give framed pictures of you and the recipient. Gift cards are good, but not really personal.
