Mr. Rodgers and Captain Kangaroo were both heavily decorated military veterans. They both fought in wars as well.
Mr. Rogers wore long sleeves to cover military tattoo's.

100% not true. He seemed a pretty level man. He served his country. He died very painfully in 2002 I believe of cancer.
