May still have Hacker.?

I logged-on to my computer one day, and instead of my homepage, my computer took me to a porn site. I used E-Machines (Ghost) to remove the hacker. I'am not sure it's gone. Is there a way to be sure?

get some of the free ones: spybot, adaware and windows defender and run them in safe mode,
