This sounds like a nice BS homework question.

Certainly the more we learn, the less rigid gender roles become. Upon "discovering" that women are no less intelligent or less capable than men, women have extended themselves beyond just being baby producers. Many studies have shown how similar the genders are in intellectual capacity. Studies comparing SAT scores, for example, have helped the cause for women's suffrage. All these studies have contributed to give women higher wages, more respect, and a less defined role.

That's relative to what you mean by equality. As far as I've seen to much lights been shined on woman's plight in the workforce and not enough on her plight with society in general. Watch MTV for awhile is that equality? I mean, I guess since most of the guys our pretty in there dresses and jewelry as the girls that makes that equal. Of course nowadayz most dudz got the baggy pantz and shirtz hiding their physic why girls wear less and less.... So culturally and in the workplace I say heck no the studies have only took attention away from the real problems.

It's nice to think that we're equal, but that's a farce. In day to day life in society, everyone still kisses butt for men, and women are to be seen and not heard. Women are still abused every day and very little is done to change things, especially for poor women of colour. Look at poor Nicole Simpson, look at the girls who are raped every day and no one cares. Sure, you can have a life of your own on your own terms, but no one will pat you on the back for it, but I guess it's a start.

It hasn't. Women still earn only .67 to every dollar a man earns.

Hasn't helped at all, men still think their smarter and we just go on letting them think that, as we solve their problems when they aren't looking and let them take the credit. We are nurturers and braggarts
