Cricket brings money & fame in a limited way. In the team sports like football ,Indians are miles behind. Individuals only shine in individual games like chess, tennis don't help to build any infrastructure. Apart from that, dirty politics both on & off the field always hinder the progress.

It isn't that Indian Government supports only cricket in the sports arena, but they give the maximum promotions to cricket. As according to them, cricket is the most demanded sport in India and hence, it would be better to promote cricket in India. The government is also focusing on other areas in sports such as football. Now-a-days, there has been a lot of urgency in the government regarding football as there have been new coaches appointed, international sides invited to india, our team has gone out and received invitations as well. Also, in hockey, the government has tried to promote it at world level and today india is one of the best teams in hockey. Even in tennis, india is hosting two-three tournaments such as davis cup, chennai masters, etc. International players such as Anastaysia Myskina have already been invited and, in addition to that, there have been talks of inviting Martina Hingis, former world no.1, to be invited in India as well. Even motorsports circuit has been developing in the south of India, and there are talks of opening an international circuit in India. There are many karting arenas where young ones can learn racing, and promote Motorsports in India.

Don't worry, I've got 14 year old kids here that are Indian and they're hungrier than I've seen anyone and they want to go in the olympics bad. One of them ran a time of 18:36 for the hardest course for a 5000 meter race which is unbelievable for a kid going into 9th grade. I believe he could be one of the greats. And have you seen that Budhia Singh thing? That 4 year old kid who ran 40 miles in less than 6 hours. It is unbelievable.
