I have a wonderful wife, been married for 25 years, 3 kids, and generally we run the house together, I and my wife, so we play either roles, depending upon the need of the hour. No ego hassles here, we are interested in our family's well-being.

we are a team, we share the domestic chores and reap the rewards together. It just works better that way as we both work full time (although my b/f works longer hours than me, so I have taken on the washing/ironing duties for both of us) so we are pretty equal on that front. If we need to buy something it is a joint decision, if we want to go somewhere we will do something that we both enjoy (or do something he likes one weekend and something I like the next)
