I've searched the net, and I found out that green tea, is good for a lot of things. It is said it is effective against diarrhea and used to cure it however it is also said that one of its side effects is diarrhea. Could anyone tell me what the truth is? Thanks!

If you have chronic diarrhea, please find a Naturopath who can help you get to the cause of it instead of treating the symptom. Trinity College (www.trinityschool.org) has a list of graduates on their web site.

As a temporary fix, I would highly recommend peppermint essential oil applied topically over the abdomen. If you have sensitive skin, you can dilute it with unscented massage oil or olive oil. Do not use if you might be or are pregnant. Do not use prior to sun exposure. Do not get this in your eyes or any sensitive areas.

I don't know where it was that you read that green tea causes diarrhea, but I highly doubt it. I just found a website that said it was effective against it. It also helps metabolism and lots of other things. I wouldn't worry about getting bathroom troubles after having some. Plus I drink it all the time, and I never have had that problem.

side-effects of green tea include nervousness, insomnia, Fast pulserate, heartburn, decreased appetite, constipation, diarrhea, asthma and allergic reactions.
It is used to prevent cancer, high colesterol , atherosclerosis, dental caries, headaches, treat wounds, stomach disorders and infectious diarrhea.
Since if has tannins in it, it is thought to cure diarrhea, but it also can act as an diuretic and then your body would absorb less water in your guts. So both are possible. I never had any and I drink 2-6 cups aday of that stuff.
