Noone but the boy himself should EVER try to retract a foreskin. Many US doctors are too mis-informed to leave it alone.

Call a doctor's office and ask "Does the doctor have an intact foreskin?" and keep dialing until someone says yes; take him to that doctor.

How the hell does foreskin get torn??

I'd start off by asking his grandmother what exactly happened. I'm surprised she didn't tell you when you picked him up. Certainly this would be very painful for the baby, and she would have realized that she did it.

Other than that, call his pediatrician and ask. It depends on how big/long the tear is, how far through the skin it goes, etc. It might be that neosporin will help it if it's minor, but you might have to have it removed. How can you pull a torn foreskin back to clean under it without making the tear worse? Call his doctor.

I would have an absolute talk with Grandma - and find out how it happened. There is no way this could have been accidentally done!!

Consult the pediatrician. Immediately. Any one that does this to a child should be punished!!

Also - the damage would be permanent if not treated. Your son will not only have the right to press charges later - and you can be charged with neglect for not having him treated right away.

Grandma probably tried to pull the foreskin back to "clean" it, not realizing it was adhered to the glans much like your fingernail is stuck to your finger - and ripped it. Good work, grandma!
Put some neosporin on it and take him to the doctor. He may need some steroid cream and antibiotics.

My two year old son is uncircumcised and one day I decided to see if it pulled back yet and gently - gently! - pulled it back and it does. However then it got stuck back behind the glans because he got an erection and it scared me to death that I hurt him so I haven't done it since. The foreskin doesn't need hardly any maintenance, tell grandma to leave his penis alone!

how exactly did it get torn, and my guess would be to seek medical attention, I mean if you had a torn something in your genital region you would go to a doctor. Also when cleaning you don't have to forcibly retract the penis, you would just gently remove the excess Smegma from the tip of the penis. There are many website that will give u info on how to clean it. Here is one of those sites, its how to care for newborns penis.

Hello, how does THAT happen? At home circumcision; not a good plan. Take him to urgent care or call the pediatrician.

How did this happen? That has to be very painful and might need stiches. It also might get infected. Take him to the doctor.
