The word “interview” itself makes a person tense who needs to appear in the interview. It is normal human behaviour to become confused or get tensed but such things can be overcome with practice, learning from seniors and elders, thru own experience. At my time internet was not available. These days Internet is a rich source of information. U can learn many things about the interview by visiting the websites the links of which are given below. On some websites u will find questions also along with answers which are frequently asked and questions pertaining to ur requirement can also be found there. It will improve ur performance remarkably. If will infuse a high level of confidence in u. It will make u more frank and it will develop diplomatic qualities in u too. Overall, I would say that it will give an impetus to ur personality development.

Hand shake is not a matter of great skill and it fetches no marks to you. Simply it is a way of greeting you before the actual interview. The hand shake should be gentle when it is with a lady and it ought to be a bit firmer while shaking with a gentleman. The firmness depends on the firmness of the other fellow too. Reciprocate accordingly.

When you walk into the room, make eye contact and smile. While walking towards the employer, keep smiling and say hello. Offer your right hand and introduce yourself with your full name, not just the first. They may be interviewing other people, and have several applications on the desk. They need to know who you are to have the right file. Shake their hand briefly, no more than 3 times of up and down motion, then let go. Be firm, not tight or loose. If your palms are sweaty, wipe them on your pants leg before you enter the room. If you feel their grip start to loosen first, then let go. Don't hold on too long, or shake vigorously, it makes you seem over-anxious. Don't sit until after they have, and/or they request it. After the "please sit down" say "thank you" not "thanks".
All of this helps to give you a confident professional image that the interviewer will go on later when he makes his decision.

1. Extend your right hand to meet the other person's right hand.
2. Point your thumb upward toward the other person's arm and extend your arm at a slight downward angle.
3. Wrap your hand around the other person's hand when your thumb joints come together.
4. Grasp the hand firmly and squeeze gently once. Remember that limp handshakes are a big turnoff, as are bone-crushing grasps.
5. Hold the handshake for 2 to 3 seconds.
6. Pump your hand up and down a few times to convey sincerity. (This gesture is optional.)
*Tips:
A two-handed handshake is not for first meetings. It is a sign of real affection, and you should reserve it for friends and intimates.
*Warnings:
Handshakes are not appropriate in all cultures. Investigate local customs if you will be visiting a foreign country.

Always with your right hand, and don't grip too tight but don't shake too softly.
