What if they changed the point system to this. When you answer a question you get 2 points now. In my new system if you went and read the askers profile before answering the question to see who they are, what sort of questions they ask you would get 1 extra point. This would lead to more informed answers I think..
What do YOU think?

It is true they would need to make people's profiles a bit different, right now I am mostly telling from reading their posts... and my idea is at the beginning stage of something, not a finished idea, that is why I asked you guys to chip in with your ideas.....

If you can answer 2 questions in the time it would take to read someone's profile really quick, well you are answering fast.... and hey, you would not have to do this, it would be an option for extra points.
I take time sometimes to see if the person is real by reading what they have posted so I can answer really smart *** if they deserve it... lol.. and I want more points for being so involved..

that or if they actually give an answer that refers to the other part of the question not just the first line in bold print. that the asker of the question got to give them a point for doing this.
i have asked question before only to receive one answer that refered to the rest of my question, i would have enjoyed giving that person more than the 10 points they got for best answer.
oh and do you want to view my myspace page? hehehe just kidding. =P

I think it's great that you are thinking about it, but the truth of the matter is that I nearly always read profiles and previous questions by the poster, and I rarely get good information to help me with my answers. I do tend to see patterns in previous questions which help me tell if a person is for real, but the profiles aren't very helpful at all, so I don't think the system you have proposed would work very well.

I think that points are neither here nor there. I DO think however that people who ask the question 'Want to view my myspace page" should automatically lose all points and priveldges. Good on you for taking care of the kids.

good idea.. but it would be too time consuming.. in the time we would take to go thru a persons profile & then answer his question, we could have answered another 2 questions & got 4 more points.. watdaya think?

Interesting! If people saw my profile, they wouldn't see much though. Well, only why I call myself Gothic Martha.
Great idea. Anyway we could get more points faster would be great!

I think they should ditch the points system and let us get on with it. Theres days when i'm in the mood to answer, and theres days when i'm in the mood to ask.
