In South Carolina there are many requirements concerning land for manufactured housing.

Here is a partial list.

1. The grass must not be mowed.

2. A structure built of plywood and painted white may be attached to the manufactured housing near the front door provided there is an old couch sitting on it.

3. Any washing machines, dryers, hot water tanks, or exercise equipment that breaks can be removed from inside the manufactured housing provided it is NOT removed from the land.

4. It is permissible to let wild flowers grow on the land provided they occur naturally in a random fashion. They should not be allowed to compete with the plastic flowers in the window boxes of the manufactured home.

5. All vehicles parked on the land shall have at least one missing hubcap. A temporary tire smaller than the other three is alright, but is considered ostentatious.

6. A camaro placed up on concrete blocks should always be placed parallel to the road.

7. The choice material for driveways when dirt is not available is gravel. Under no circumstances shall concrete be allowed. A special permit for blacktop is available only in conjunction with a portable carport.

For a complete copy of all the requirements contact the South Carolina Office of Land Development (S.C.O.L.D.)
If you think these requirements seem strict, you should see the rules for Alabama.
