I'd recommend trying City Lips Clear, it is a lip plumping treatment, but it is amazing for chapped lips. I actually suffered with chronic chelitis due to a course of accutane treatment and my lips were constantly cracked and dry 24/7. I hurt so much to even open my mouth and my lips were always bleeding. Since using this treatment, the changes has been amazing. I also suggest using plenty of vaseline during the day to lock in the moisture. You'll notice a difference within about 2 weeks. Good luck and take care : )

Chapped lips can be caused by many other things than licking your lips. Some foods tend to dry out lips, as well as weather (very hot, very cold, very dry, etc.)Being in the sun or tanning bed can also dry out lips. A great treatment for chapped lips is: after brushing your teeth, gently exfoliate lips using a damp washcloth, then apply lip balm. I have found that Burt's Beeswax is the best. They also make tinted lip balm. I put lipbalm on before going to bed and it really helps.

It depends on the weather...high humidity can cause chapped lips.
Also because most people breathe through their mouths and that dry air takes the moisture out of your lips.
Chap-stick isn't a permanent solution...It only works for a short time. So nothing is going to completely prevent or stop chapped lips...it's a part of being human.
So slather on some lip gloss and look great while you can! :-P

There are a lot of resons for having unusulallly chapped lips. It could be because the weather is too hot or too cold, or because of a predisposition to dry skin. People with allergies also tend to have dry lips.
My solution? I put on this thick lipgloss before I go to bed and it moisturizes my lips all night. Then I put on sheer gloss throughout the day. Nothing else has worked for me.
