On Tuesday, I bought a Verizon cell phone and cell phone plan. I have had TracFone for the past four years and had wanted to keep my phone number since everyone knows it. The guy at the store told me the number would port over, but it could take anywhere from five minutes to a few days. Well, it's been nearly a week. My number still has not ported over. I'm leaving for college on Friday and it's getting annoying having to carrying around two phones (TracFone for incoming calls, Verizon for outgoing). Is there anything I should do to help the numbers port over quicker? Should I keep the phones on or off? Will turning the phones off effect the amount of time it takes to port the number?
I'm thinking I should have just asked them to give me a new phone number...
Also, should I pay a visit to the Verizon store tomorrow? Or should I wait a few more days?

When I call from either my TracFone or my Verizon phone, the number is the same.

The guy said it could be ported. Even if it can't be, then how would you explain that both my phones currently have the right phone number? TracFone can make incoming and outgoing phone calls. Verizon can make outgoing, yet I haven't recieved any incoming calls.....
I'm going to call my cell from my home phone right now.... Just to try it one more time. And the TracFone rings. This is such bullshit.
