if we let it, it can make them less imaginative and more lazy. we must focus on keeping the imagination running and limiting the technology (e.g. computers tv etc) the are exposed to.

Technology is advancing more than protecting the environment and it is ruining the future of our children. Governments should make laws as fast as technological development to make the world free from toxins.

an emphatic NO.... back in your granddad's day, they thought the telephone would ruin the world.... Radio.... godless ..... and we all know now that TV is ruinous. Technology is a tool nothing more nothing less.... it can be good and bad depending on how you use it. I think that increases in communication will always help out.
Technology has taken us to the moon and to be able to look deep inside the earth. Taken us to the heights of dicovery in our universe and in ourselves...... Go to Learner.org and see what we now know.... check out the Hubble images or ask a mom about her ultrasound of her baby..... Technology has made the bomb and cured polio.... My son (7years old) asks me today if the computer is better than our brain? Oh look i show him how it can add a big series of numbers together. Wow, but it can't get across the room, it can't know love like I love you....

no lack of parenting is
there is / will be technology changes over the years
each time parents fear technologies march invading into there homes
and in every case it was the parents lack of discipline and control ove their children that has them losing control to technology
yo don't have to buy the kids cell phones
x boxes ect..
but you do as you feel inadequate as a parent for not providing
all you owe the kids is a roof over there heads, clothes on their backs and food... and you love and attention..
technology takes the place when you fail to give them the last 2.

It depends, some technology is good because it allows our children to see or hear about things they never could from a book (in a classroom setting of course), but as far as entertainment goes . . . the newest generation is not expected to live to the same age as their parents due to inactivity and obesity.
That's a scary thought!

I don't think so. I think technology is opening a broader world to our children. Technology gives them many more tools with which to communicate, enables them to investigate and research topics on their own, and empowers them to learn more and learn faster than I was able to when I was their age.
Like any powerful tool, technology can be misused. But like it or not, we are in the Technological Age, and we must do all in our power to use this tool to positive ends.

no not at all you can't blame a computer for making the kid sit in front of it all day. if you want to blame somone blame the parents for buying the "baby sitters" thats all they are really. and when they do buy the stuff they don't regulate anything so rather than doing something productive the kid is on the computer looking up cheat codes for his xbox that he plays on his flatscreen tv while talking on his cell phone to his online friend that is doing the exact same thing..........
