I'm 32, woman living in another country, far away of my family. I have 2 B.A in my country and here, where I live, I don't have legal paper yet. I'm married, not child yet, and I have a chance to get my legal status, in about six or more months. But I've been waiting for four years, never get a job here.. I feel very frustrated.. In october my visa expires and I don't wanna become a illegal inmigrant. On the top of that...I have huge doubts about being in my country again, because I lost four years of my professional life over there.
I'm sorry for my english.. I'm still learning.. So.. I gonna read your opinions. Thanks !!

is it safe for you to return to your country? what are your doubts?if it is safe, then i think you can be very successful there. you are young and intelligent, four years will not harm your chances to be a professional, and having worked in another country may even make you a more desirable candidate for a job in your country! your family is there, too, which is very important. staying here won't guarantee you a job either, i'm not sure how much longer this country can keep it together. in any case this is something you need to take your time and evalute - don't rush yourself. good luck.

I lived away from my home for 13 years.I was not aloud to work for the first 5 years in the other country.Sure l had my ups and downs, but l had children at the same time .Talk to your husband, and together you can way up the pro's and con's,on where to live.Four years isn't a long time to be away from your profession, women do it all the time to stay home and raise the children, and go back to the workforce, when the children start school. It's always going to be a Little daunting going back to the workforce after taking a break from it,but have faith, and every thing will work out well.Best of luck to you.

What does your husband do? Does he want to stay or go back home?
Both your degrees need good English. You will probably never be able to work here adequately unless your English improves dramatically.
You're not working here, I'm assuming your husband does. That could be the same if you return home. Is it that you don't want to look a failure if you return home?
Where do you really want to live? If being an illegal immigrant is your only option, I'd go home. At least you'll have your dignity left!

If you're still learning English...that was great!!! Way better than some that have known it for years, haha! anyway, I think you should do what you believe is best. I know you probably don't want to hear that, it's probably no help! Sorry, but it's really all I can say...

I wouldn't want to become an illegal immigrant either though....so that's a tough one. So sorry.

Good luck.

getting legal status in that other country wouldn't help u in getting a job. so if u don't have luck papers or no papers luck won't come. sorry. maybe it's better to start with career in your own country where u won't be judged upon nationality or skin colour. of course age 32 seems to be so old for beginning a career

The answer's quite simple: if you don't want to be an illegal immigrant return to your country. There are people in this country who have lost years of their professional life: unemployment exists here as well; people have qualifications that they can't use. So I think you should return home.

Its a part of life. Try to see around, there are lives having much more worse situation than yours.
So, be strong, have courage and take the challenge.
Keep it in mind, man can do whatever man has done. Then why to worry?
Just keep on trying. Victory is yours.

I would suggest you go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau, if you're in the UK, or the equivalent if you are elsewhere. They can advise you on employment and legal issues free of charge. Good luck.

write down on one side al the pros and cons (objectives an about your feelings) of staying where you are and on the other old ageside the pros and cons of leaving. Give them some sort of ranking of impotance, for example, what is your most important consideration, your personal relationship, your job or where you live?
This excercise might make things clearer for you to decide
