why do atheists want to remove God from everything because it "offends them" they are offended by a God they don't even beleive in, they want "In God we trust" taken off our money and "Under God" taken out of the pledge of allegiance, if they don't beleive in God, how can he offend them.

God doesn't offend me. People like you do. I believe in God but I don't believe in allowing the government to force religious beliefs down people's throats just to please you narrow-minded, misguided bigots. Jesus said, "Judge not lest ye be judged", but most of you missed that along with most of the Gospels. All you want is Old Testament style eye-for-an-eye retribution, which means you're not really Christians at all. Jesus taught forgiveness and acceptance, not revenge and prejudice.
For the record, separation of church and state is in the First Amendment, but most conservatives these days don't understand that you can't have freedom of religion without separation of church and state. They're one and the same thing. If a church were allowed to gain control of the government and pass laws according to its beliefs, that would infringe on everyone else's freedom of religion. That is why they must be kept separate. It protects the Christians more than it protects the atheists.

It is not because "it offends them", it is because in the Constitution, it states there is to be a separation of church and state, and there isn't if we are talking about "God" on our money and at school, etc.

Why not "In Shiva we trust". Or, "One nation, under Allah..."
It boggles my mind how some Christians can't get this through their thick, dense skulls. Separation of church and state is VITAL to maintaining true freedom within our country. There's nothing else to it.

How would YOU feel if you pledged allegience to "one nation under Allah" every morning. Would you as a Christian feel offended, yes or no?

"katunich".....The United States of America was founded on Christian values. We have bent OVER BACKWARDS to try and please every #@!%^ person in this country of ours. If you want to worship allah, that's cool. But this is AMERICA. You may want to consider moving to another country.....but you won't....because you know this country is great. You want all the milk and honey but you want to write your own rules. If I lived in another country that did not believe in what I believe in, that's my problem...not the problem of the residents of that country.
