I have a lot of scars on my legs from when I was younger (my skin used to be really sensitive), & now I feel really self-conscious & won't wear anything other than pants (even if it's 1000 degrees outside)...& sometimes it's really depressing!

I just don't know what to do to permanently get rid of them.

Any suggestions?

Thank you :)

What type/brand of scar creams would you recommend?

You could try Mederma. That works well at getting rid of scars. You can also try rubbing pure aloe vera gel on them. I have scars from when I was younger too and I don't like showing my legs either.

I'm not up on the various creams and other remedies, but I am aware of the fact that Vitamin E in an emollient is still an ingredient in many anti-scar preparations. When I was 17, I wrecked my car and had a deep gash on my forehead from my scalp to my eyebrow. A plastic surgeon was on duty in the emergency room (a earlier time before ER doctors) and he stitched me up in two layers. But the result was still gruesome. He advised me to apply Lanolin with Vitamin E twice a day to the scar. It took awhile, but within a few years, the scar was hardly noticeable, and is all but invisible today. So, I'd suggest any product with Vitamin E, but Lanolin might be good to use too.

Dermalmd Scar Treatment Serum Helped get rid of one of my recent scars after only 1 month of use (I am not very consistent but see results) Am now applying it to a childhood scar from 20 years ago, it is slowly getting better.

I am a fair-skinned gal and I used to have bad mosquito/acne scars from childhood. I went to some tanning beds, burned my skin and they cleared up like magic!

I'd go see a derm. and ask if they'd recommend tanning. I've had a few friends do it too and have had the same results.

I guess when you burn your skin, it renews itself.

Other than that, there should be some good creams out there.

I have some scars on my legs from child hood also, must of them will go away over the years, I would suggest cocoa butter, or other scar creams. You might want to see a demertologist for the best solution

Hi,
I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.

In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

I am not a doctor nor a specialist but this may help:

1) rinse your face as soon as you wake up, after you come home from outside

and before you sleep.
2) eat a lot of apples( i do not know how but that really helped me)
3) drink a lot of water..A LOT
4) exercise to sweat and get dirt off your face

Give it a try, i am sure it will work. It worked for me

I can't add anything to ridding your legs of scars. The place to really worry about isn't the skin ... it is the soul. Just don't let a blemish on your skin diminish your value in your eyes one little bit. The woman you see in the mirror can be beautiful - is beautiful - if you believe it.

Try "Mederma." It's an over-the-counter scar cream that I've heard works wonders.

Try scar creams or just wait cuz over time they will fade and then go away.
